Meet The Teacher

I've been blogging since high school but started a teaching blog around the same time I started teaching full-time. I wanted a forum where I could post ideas and classroom projects, share resources, and inspire like-minded teachers. I love learning from other teachers and I hope that my blog inspires and advises other teachers out there!

My Education

I received my bachelor's degree in liberal studies from California State University, Long Beach in May 2011. At the same time, I received dual teaching credentials - a M/M Education Specialist Credential with an Added Autism Authorization and a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential.

I graduated in May 2014 with my master's degree in special education from CSU Long Beach. I hope to (eventually) pursue single subject credentials in English and Earth/Planetary Science, while also working on a certificate in Assistive Technology.

My Personal Life

I've spent the last three summers working with an amazing organization called People to People Student Ambassadors. It combines my two favorite joys - teaching and traveling - into one cohesive program. I am afforded the opportunity to travel abroad in the summer with groups of students from elementary, middle, and high school. Unfortunately, this past summer (Summer 2014) was the last travel season with P2P, as they are closing their doors.

I am also trying to build a part-time photography business. I love photography and working with families and clients! You might see some photos from my shoots on this blog from time to time…

I am also SUPER crafty - I paint, sketch/draw, sew, crochet, scrapbook, graphic design, and write. I'm an artist at heart, which happens to make me a perfect teacher! I'm always looking for new creative outlets.
